Steps 4, 6, and 7 will be done by JPIX.
he remaining steps are to be done by the customer.
We require the customer to prepare a router that supports the BGP4 protocol. The connection interface, the demarcation of responsibility, and prices may vary depending upon where the router is installed.
Under circumstances where the router is located in either the KDDI Otemachi building, NTT Data Otemachi Building(Broadband Tower), @Tokyo Chuo Center, TY2 Tokyo IBX Center , NTT Data Dojima Building , KDDI Nagoya Building and ComSpaceⅠ:
Since there is a JPIX switch installed in these locations, basically connection can be made using in-house cabling. However, there may be some cases where connection cannot be made due to your router collocation sites or interfaces. For more detailed information, please contact our sales department.
JPIX collocation service are provided within the KDDI Otemachi Building and Telecom Center Building. Those who desire a new collocation space should request this location.
In cases with routers installed in buildings other than the above mentioned seven buildings (and in the above mentioned buildings where connection is not possible with in-house cabling):
Connections can be made by installing an ATM leased circuit or Ethernet leased circuit (a network interface using an Ethernet interface) into KDDI Otemachi Building (JPIX Otemachi). Please contact local carrier in regards to the possibility of installing such circuits into KDDI Otemachi Bldg.
You will select the appropriate IX port according to your traffic. At present, the services we provide are 10Gigabit Ethernet (10Gbps), Gigabit Ethernet (1Gbps) and Fast Ethernet (100Mbps) ports. The provided port interfaces are usually 10GBase-LR, 1000Base-SX, 100Base-FX, or 100Base-TX interfaces. This may vary among the different collocation sites. For details please contact our sales department.
As soon as the location of the router for connecting to the IX and the interface is decided upon, an quotation will be sent along with copy of the terms and conditions. After reading through the terms and conditions, you are ready to sign up. Our usual lead time after signing up is one month (there are cases of delays). Within this time, we expect our customers to make arrangements for the circuits and equipment. In cases where the AS number has not been obtained, it should also be obtained within this period. At JPIX, we hold meetings for the customer regarding the necessary arrangements until connection with our engineer present (JPIX technical orientation).
